Our Programmes:

Technology Transfer

The National Aerospace Technology Strategy (NATS) launched in the UK in 2003 provided excellent opportunities for FAC to work wth Government, Academia, Primes and Supply Chain firms in developing new technology solutions to meet perceived market needs over the next decades.
High amongst these are technologies associated with autonomous vehicles, next generation civil aircraft wings, diagnostic and prognostic capability for advanced systems and air traffic management technologies.
FAC also leads several Knowledge Networks.  These are unique activities that bring academia and business together effectively to improve increase market share in specific areas.

Skills & Training

The aviation industry generally in the West is exhibiting an ageing workforce and the challenges for many firms are to attract young scientists and engineers into the industry.  In addition new technologies at both engineering and operational levels are demanding significant investment in up-skilling the existing workforce.  FAC is active in this area in identifying specific needs of firms and aligning available funding to meet the demand whilst working with schools and colleges to excite young people into pursuing a career within the aviation industry.

Process Excellence

Supply Chain performance is recognised in the UK as critical to maintaining our share of world trade and last year a major programme for the industry was launched called Supply Chain in the 21st Century (SC21).
This programme delivers a standard lean manufacturing approach, gives international accreditation and improves relationships between suppliers and buyers.  FAC working with its membership is actively involved in this critical area.  For more information please call 01252 375600.

 Our Membership:

We are located in Farnborough in the South of England close to London.  We have a unique national and international membership of global primes, medium and small sized firms.  We also have several world leading aviation research centres within our membership.
This enables our organisation to be uniquely positioned to understand the requirements of global organisations, influence research programmes enabling small and medium sized firms to offer solutions and improve their business winning opportunities.
We are also contracted by the Regional Development Agency for the South East of England to grow the aviation, space, security and defence sectors in terms of attracting inward investment and overseas trade.
FAC is specifically focussed on helping its members win business in a global market.  In 2007, working with Kingston University we designed a market leading application to represent our companies capabilities in a structured and easy to access format that is being used by global primes to source new suppliers.  This novel approach to marketing our members has attracted other organisations within the UK and is fast becoming a national application that is available worldwide with free access.
FAC is rapidly becoming recognised as a provider of one-stop solutions to major companies in either finding specialist suppliers of goods and services or forming consortia capable of delivering entire systems thereby reducing procurement costs.

Our Targeted Growth:

FAC's membership covers virtually every aspect of the Aviation, Space, Security and Defence sectors.  However, over the last 12 months we have committed new resources in specific areas such as Civil Aviation which includes Airport, Airline Services, Air Traffic Management and MRO and, our latest venture focused on the growing global demand for increased security technologies including next generation autonomous vehicles.

Climate change and legislation are having a profound effect on air travel and a growing requirement is to find solutions to these associated environmental issues.  FAC is working with other organisations to pursue technology solutions.
In 2005 the UK MoD issued a radical new Defence Industrial Stratey supported by a Defence Technology Strategy to meet its perceived requirements for future potential threats.  A key component of this new strategy was an ambition to access innovative solutions within small and medium sized firms.  FAC is realigning its defence membership to position it to take advantage of these new opportunities which could be tailored to meed MoD requirements in partnership with USA firms.
The Space market, particularly satellite technology, is forecast to be worth a trillion dollars globally by 2020 and FAC are pursuing partnerships in Europe and the US to effectively increase their business winning opportunities.

Our Events & Exhibitions:

FAC has become recognised for providing exhibition space for its members in targeted regions around the world from the USA, Asia, Middle East and Europe.  We provide unique opportunities, particularly for medium and small sized firms, to market their goods and services to new customers at a fraction of the cost they would incur if they were to attempt to exhibit on their own.

We have an enviable success rate of new business growth as a result of this specific expertise within FAC.
In addition, we run a tailored events programme usually covering between 30 and 40 topics per annum, which could be Meet the Buyer events, Best Practice visits or situational awareness briefings on emerging business opportunities.

Our International Partnerships:

Over the past few years FAC has actively pursued the development of partnership relationships at a national and international level over a wide range of related sectors.  Our partnerships which cover the UK, Europe and the USA.  We also have offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to enable our members to pursue new business opportunities in this growing and lucrative market.
We also enjoy an enviable relationship with the South East Regional Development Agency (SEEDA) where we combine the aspirations of Government and Business into a coherent strategy for the South East Region of the UK.
